“My Home” Testimonials
I moved to Regina from Toronto to find work. When I first came, I had no job and no place to live, so I stayed in the men’s transitional housing for a week. After that, I was accepted to the second phase of the LifeChange Program at Souls Harbour Rescue Mission. Here, they gave me a place to live while I was trying to find a job. The then allowed me to live there while I saved money and prepared to move out on my own. When a place became available at Harbour House, the staff encouraged me to move in. The place was clean and the people were great – so I did!
I love being at Harbour House; having the ability to cook my own meals in my own suite. The building is quiet and the rent is affordable. Harbour House is “My Home” because when I come in from work, I know that I can cook myself dinner and relax. There is a picnic table where I can go out and sit at and when I come back into the building, I am coming to my own place. The building is secure and I feel safe here. I would definitely recommend Harbour House to others.
Cory says “when I was looking for a place, I asked myself what would be best for me. I chose Harbour house because the manager said I could pay the first month’s rent over time, and he made a payment plan for the damage deposit. I appreciate that!”
I haven’t had my own apartment in 10-15 years. Harbour House is “My home” because it looks like my last home. It reminds me of my dad a little and feels familiar to me. After living in rooming houses for year, I appreciate that I can do things on my own schedule and not be worried about it interfering with other people.
My favourite part of living at Harbour House is that if I need to talk to someone – there is a manager here to touch base with. I really appreciate what Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission has done for me.
