Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission Appoints new Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission joyously announces the appointment of the new Executive Director, Michelle Porter. In her former role as Administrator, she has grown a large team of staff and volunteers who unite in the fight against poverty, homelessness and addiction. She also took the lead in the merger last year of Souls Harbour and Regina RESCUE Mission, creating one large, dynamic charity that reaches out to help the poor, hungry, homeless and hurting in a full continuum of care. Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission has grown in size and scope, with a debt and mortgage free budget of 1 million dollars, 5 facilities, and a partnership with over 11,000 homes in Regina. "As a founding director, Michelle's experience and knowledge of the operation give us great confidence that we have the right person at the helm," says board chair, Alan Jacobson. Rev Ken Porter, former Executive Director, looks forward to pursuing his new calling as Senior Chaplain with the organization.

Let me add a huge congratulations as well! You are the woman for the job. Prayers and blessings and many blossoms as well.

(By the way, the picture looks so ministerially executive like.)

In all seriousness...all the very best.

Congratulations on your announcement Michelle. I hope that you maintain a heart like that of Paul in Phil. 3:12-14.

Hi Michelle! Just stumbled across your blog and was thrilled to see what God has been doing in your lives!!! We are living in Victoria where I'm sure youknow that we must be the capital of homeless people because of the beautiful climate - want to move??? :) Like I said earlier - so glad to see how well you are doing and trust God to continue to bless you and ken in your new positions!!!

Take care especailly during this very busy season for you.
