I'll give YOU "highly recommended!"

Jon, Vicki and I worked hard to be able to get away for the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions Convention. However, only 2 out of 3 made it to Seattle, Washington today. Yes, travelling with others is always an adventure! (When I came to convention with Melanie she had to have her ID faxed to the airport!)

I'm going to blame it on the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, though. Here's a direct quote from their website: "a passport or birth certificate is highly recommended for travellers coming into the USA, and will be required in January of 2007."

And, in married couple fashion, Jon convinced Vicki not to bother looking for her travel documents, copy of this quote in hand. Fast forward to Jon and I playing Travel Scrabble & Chess on the airplane, and Vicki at home scrambling through boxes and whackloads of papers, finally finding BOTH of her necessary pieces of ID.

Vicki will be joining us today. And I would like to HIGHLY RECOMMEND to the Department of Homeland Security to spend a few of those military dollars on updating the website!
